The International Union of Operating Engineers (IUOE) began in the late 19th century as the National Union of Steam Engineers of America, a union for stationary engineers. Eventually, this union branched out to include operating engineers as well as workers in a variety of fields, including healthcare.

NLRB charges alleging that the IUOE committed ULPs
At least some IUOE members aren’t happy with the union’s representation, nearly 800 charges of unfair labor practice (labor law violations) have been filed against the IUOE since 2015, according to Bloomberg Law.
Knowing how the IUOE treats its own members, is this who you want to represent you and your future with WillScot?
What it Means to be an IUOE Member
IUOE’s rules and regulations govern and control the activities of their members, both on and off the job. The union defines that control in writing, in a very critical document – the IUOE Constitution.
The IUOE Constitution restricts the freedom of their members and violations of these rules can and do result in disciplinary action, including fines, for their members.
The fact remains that the only way to avoid having to work with these restrictions is to avoid working under a union.
